The Hotel & Spa Monasterio de Boltaña recently joined a charitable cause organized to support the victims of the DANA in Valencia and Letur (Albacete) through a charity meal that brought together over 120 people on Thursday, December 12th. This event, with an estimated fundraising of around €10,000, was a prime example of solidarity, where forces from various sectors united to raise funds that will be entirely donated to the affected individuals.

An Exclusive Menu Prepared by Renowned Aragonese Chefs

With a unique gastronomic offer, attendees were able to enjoy an exclusive menu prepared by a select group of Aragonese chefs, some of them with Michelin Stars and recognitions such as Soles Repsol and Bib Gourmand. The initiative included the participation of great names in cuisine, including Rubén Pertusa, chef of the Monastery of Boltaña, who led the preparation of the menu.

In addition, chefs such as Carmelo Bosque (Lillas Pastia), Josetxo Souto and J. Ramón Aso (Callizo), Toño Rodríguez (La Era de los Nogales), J. Andrés Ballarín (La Capilleta) and Rubén Coronas (Casa Rubén), who altruistically offered their culinary talent for the occasion, joined the cause.

Collaboration of Local Suppliers and Commitment to the Cause

In addition to the chefs, the event benefited from the selfless collaboration of several local suppliers who donated the products necessary for preparing the menu. These include Pescaderías San Sebastián, Copima, Txogitxu, Supermercados Alto Aragón, Frutas José, and Bodegas Javier. The generosity of these companies ensured that all ingredients used in the menu were free of charge, maximizing the impact of the funds raised.
The charitable act was supported by the participation of local authorities, including mayors from the region and representatives from the Sobrarbe region. Members of the hospitality and tourism sectors, as well as entrepreneurs from other fields such as agribusiness and commerce, were also present, all united with a common goal: raising funds for those affected by the DANA.

Double Impact: Fundraising and Business Collaboration

The funds raised will be donated to the Red Cross, which is responsible for carrying out humanitarian aid in the devastated areas. It is also worth noting that Zurich Insurance joined the cause, pledging to double the amount raised during the event, which will triple the aid directed to the victims. This collaboration has been crucial in increasing the initiative’s impact and ensuring the aid reaches those who need it most.
The Hotel Monasterio de Boltaña, recently recognized as a ‘Monument Hotel’ by the Government of Aragón, has once again demonstrated its commitment to the community and its ability to bring the Aragonese society together in times of need. With this charity meal, the hotel has solidified its position as a leader in organizing events that combine gastronomic excellence with solidarity, reaffirming its role as a space not only for rest but also for social action.

Gastronomy at the Service of Solidarity

The success of this event demonstrates how gastronomy, when put to the service of a noble cause, can become a powerful tool for community unity and generating a positive impact. From the Hotel Monasterio de Boltaña, they express their gratitude to all who made this charity meal possible and reiterate their commitment to continue collaborating on initiatives that contribute to the recovery of the areas affected by the DANA.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the meal was not only a delight for the palate but also an act of unity and support for those going through difficult times. This charitable action is a clear example of how, in times of adversity, collaboration and solidarity can make a difference.
